I got all gussied up last week to have my friend, photographer Frank Stewart, take my author photo. Now, I can't decide which one to use. The photos I like best are not the straight-forward this-is-a-headshot kind of shots--I never took a good one of those even during the acting years. I've been looking around at what other writers have chosen and I think it's okay to use a photo that's more artistic. This is my favorite, but I probably won't use it because it's blue. But that's exactly what I love about it.
In a couple of weeks, another friend of mine will do a shoot with me at home. I'm thinking about trying out some curly shots during that session--maybe I'll look more comfortable being myself that way.
More news from the publishing front: I turned in what became a 21-page author questionnaire for the publicity and marketing team along with a dozen supplementary materials. I hope it helps those guys find the hook that makes the book fly off of the shelves.
It's a weird time this waiting period. I feel like maybe I've run out of things to say . . . well, at least until tomorrow.
