Dude, how much do I love cows? From afar, very much. But if you walk through a field with cows, you start to think, why are these dudes eyeballing me so? Okay, imagine driving through a bison park like my husband and I did in Canada a couple of years ago (yes, a weird choice of vacation activity). But imagine that, and imagine being in a field with said creatures not in a car but just as a lone five-foot(ish) self. Such was my afternoon excursion to the big house (read office) this afternoon. It was my first big excursion outside on foot since I've been here. Sadly, my calves actually hurt from the two-mile walk -- I can't keep myself cooped up like that again.
Back to the cows: there are a lot of them. And did you know they can jump? This one rampaging cow jumped over a ravine. Now, I understand the inspiration for the cow jumped over the moon. You'd be surprised but they really can get a little vertical.
These are big, well, animals, and I have a healthy respect for big animals.
More news from the ranch: I read a whole book today by noon. Towelhead. Recommended. A good read. I did yoga. First time of stretching in one month--good move probably until tomorrow morning. I am down to one box elder bug per day in my studio, but about two in my bedroom. And oh, yeah, did I tell you I have a mouse in my studio? Oh, wildlife, just come and get me--this is obviously a karma thing.
