who knows what! I met my deadline for the first revisions of the manuscript. I read the manuscript out loud to myself yesterday, and I think it's becoming better, tighter and more clear. There are some changes that I still want to make and layers I would like to add. That work will be done for the next and final draft. For now, though, I am setting the manuscript aside for a couple of days. Let some stuff percolate.
I have to say this was the best place to be to work on the revisions. I didn't see a human being for a couple of days --and it was great! It allowed me to really tune into myself, and the story, --it allowed me to access that really raw space so that I could write some new words --I've been tinkering with the ending.
This afternoon, I think I'll read (someone/anyone else's work); maybe take a walk outside. And enjoy this moment--because really, there's still lots more work to do!
