It seemed to me this had to be a joke, but nope. A company called Gen Spec markets vitamins specifically for several ethnic groups: Caucasians, African-Americans, and Hispanics. The products' tag line: "Equal opportunity vitamins and supplements."
Here's a description for Gen Spec's African-American Men's Multivitamin (they've segregated the vitamins by ethnicity and gender):
Each multivitamin is formulated for "genetic specificity." Really? As a biracial person, looks like I'd be taking a whole lot of vitamins each day.
They really lost me when I saw that they sell weight-loss pills that are targeted to different ethnicities too. "GenSpec offers weight-management supplements specifically formulated to work in harmony with Caucasian physiology and basal metabolic rates." Oh, come on!
