today helped 3rd graders write their own "books." what a delight they were. they don't know writers' block. they know television and superstars. and they wanted to write about them. in the end, they composed a wholly original love story: the angry gentleman and the passionate pooka. my favorite ending came from a young boy, smaller than the rest, and intense. linda, the pooka who worked as a hairstylist, was also a doctor. she saved the angry gentleman from vipers and then they were wed. of course, of course, the pooka was a hairstylist and a doctor. why not? children seem not to have difficulties with such ideas. you can be a lawyer and an actor. why not?
